The Ultimate Guide to Reseller Shipping

Shipping worries many new sellers. A few habits make it predictable. Carriers, sizes and prices change by country and platform, so always check the options shown when you create the listing.
1. Supplies
- Poly mailers: for clothing; light and water-resistant.
- Bubble wrap or paper: for anything fragile.
- Reused boxes: clean and without old labels.
2. Weigh before you list
Platforms and carriers price by weight and size bands. Guessing can put you in the wrong band. Weigh the item with its packaging on a kitchen scale and choose the size accordingly.
| Item | Typical packaging | Check |
|---|---|---|
| T-shirt, shirt | Poly mailer | Weight with packaging |
| Jeans, knitwear | Poly mailer or small box | Weight and thickness |
| Shoes | Box | Box size |
| Fragile objects | Box + padding | Shake test: nothing should move |
3. Platform shipping
- Vinted: platform-arranged shipping and prepaid labels are available in supported transactions. Who pays, the available carriers and the size limits depend on the country and order, so follow the options displayed before confirming.
- eBay: labels and shipping services vary by national site, account and destination. Set the service, dispatch terms and costs shown in the listing flow, and check the carrier's current restrictions.
For international sales, customs forms, import charges, restricted goods and consumer obligations may apply. Consult the platform, carrier and the competent customs or consumer authority for the origin and destination countries.
4. A thank-you note
Optional. A short handwritten "Thank you!" is enough.
Before you seal the parcel
- The item matches the listing (size, colour, defects).
- The label is readable and covers no old barcode.
- For valuable items, take a photo of the packed parcel.
